“ ...to the obedience that comes from faith~ Romans 1:6

REMINDER FOR ME:
Faith is not something I have worked to develop or achieve; it is not an accomplishment or a medal. It has nothing to do with me. It is a spiritual gift.
It is in my sin, in my humanity, where doubt rises. Because of God's character I could never reasonably/logically doubt God, I can only be in doubt of my own heart.

Daniel Borchers wrote it like this :

"...recognizing that God’s character is the source of our assurance. The gift of faith never doubts His promise. We can doubt our hearts because we are imperfect and we can doubt our eyes because they only see the physical – and they see that imperfectly. But God’s character is perfect and His Word is sure. He can be trusted. Always!
The gift of faith knows this. The gift of faith is assured that God will never leave us or forsake us. The gift of faith testifies to us of God’s holy and righteous character."

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

TO LONG

IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME... BUT I AM TRYING THIS AGAIN...
It has been a long time since I posted actually it has been a year. I think i stopped blogging about the same time I finished college...lol... no more three hour gaps during the day would be the most likely culprit. Anyway I am here to catch up. I have been working at an accoutning company. Learning lots of course. On Auguest 13 I am leaving the country for a few weeks! DESTINATION: PHILLIPINES!
I am super excited about that!
Lets see to the more recent... lethbridge declared a state of emergancy - lots of water everwhere... my personal emergancy would be that my car has water in it. Thank goodness our basement did not flood. That already happened this summer and I think once is enough. Thank the LORD for sub-pumps that work!

Time to catch up on things. . .

Sooo it has been a long time since I have spent more than 5 Min's on the computer... now I see that I have allot of catching up to do.

I went into my e mail. YIKES 78 new messages! Time to look through those I guess! So far it looks like mostly facebook so it should not be to bad!

ANYWAY NOW FOR THE EXCITING SUMMER NEWS!
The first and the most exciting is.... drum roll please!
INTRODUCING THEO LUKE!
My first nephew and the newest addition! I also have to say that he is also the cutest newborn I have EVER seen! (along with his sisters!). Chris & Nik you guys have beautiful kids!
The next thing I have to tell ya all about is my Friday night! I will brake it into three parts!
PART 1
Becky and I hung out which was all fun and stuff but the excitement started when we walked out of shoppers drug mart at the mall and discovered that Becky could not get into her car...
WHY IS THIS YOU ASK????
This really nice black Hummer was parked next to her with its door wide open(smack up against Becky's car) with two legs hanging out the door... OK not too much of a problem... until we discovered that the legs belonged to someone who had a little too much to drink and was along with his friend passed out(drunk if you did not catch on). Becky tried slamming the door on the legs. Nope that did not help... then she tried banging on the window that the one guy was leaning against almost yelling "WAKE UP!"
(I personally was hoping they wouldn't cause who know what mood they would have been in!).
They did not wake up! So Becky had a brilliant idea. We put her car in neutral and started pushing her car but then another car started coming so I had to jump into the car and somehow actually get my leg to reach the brake from the other side of the car...
I am amazed that I managed to do this with my short legs but I did...
PART 2
After that we went to the movie mill with Krista... We were late because of the drunks...
SO when we finally got there we found Krista sitting in her car with really big eyes and a concerned look on her face. Apparently some guys wanted to tip over her moms SMART car. LOL
PART 3
After the movie we walkout of the building to find police cars and an area taped off...
someone thought it was a good idea to stand on top of the office depot buck naked threatening to jump off. OK not entirely buck naked. He had a sock and I will let you figure out where he was wearing it (hint: not on his foot) GOOD GRIEF! Some people I tell you!
So yeah that was Friday!!!

Time to start posting again!

It has been awhile!
But that is because I have been busy having fun with my nieces... and then starting a new job. Now it is the long weekend and instead of enjoying ht outdoors I find myself watching the rain come down, blogging, playing board games and hot tubing. I am grateful for the wetness cause the land needs it... but I am also wishing that I was out enjoying the land. Anyway...

Lets start with my nieces!
I spent a wonderful week with my sister-in-law and her two beautiful daughters!
Some of the highlights of my week were:
1) waking up to Hallie saying "AUNTIE BEV! I love you soooooo much!"
2) Hallie:(at a red light )"Ready set GO!" I said ready set go!
Nikki: (When then the light turns green.) I am going!
Hallie: No MOM I said ready set go!
I am still not sure what she meant by "Ready set go!"
3) Raya saying: "no no no no"
4) Raya helping me clean the bathroom when I was not watching. By dipping a cloth in the toilet and washing the floor with it! LOL
5) Playing Lego and play dough.
6) Cuddles from Raya.
and there is sooo much more!!!!!

Now for the Job
I have a new job.. an official job. It is going well. I am learning and so far I like it more than any of the other jobs I have ever had... which is a good thing.
I am not disclosing allot about my job due to the public nature of a blog. But for those who have my email and want to know more just drop me a note.

That is all for now!

So it has been a long time since I have bloged!

Final exams are here! While that means studying when I would rather be outside enjoying the weather it also means that it won't be long until I am outside instead of studying!

I am looking foward to days in the sun! Hiking, Camping(hopefully), some horse back riding. I am thinking of getting a digital camera to record all the wonerful things I am going to see and all the supper fun times with my friends and family!

Shayna arrives on the 24th... yes that would be this tuesday! My sister left this sunday...I have such a good time with her! what a week this is!

On the 29th I am visiting my sister in law and my nieces! Maybe I can take them to the zoo! that would be stellar. The last time I was there with Hallie she was quite a bit younger but soooo cute! I can not imagine what raya would be like there.. probably getting into everything!

that is all for now... I better get back to studying!

The hunt is on....

It is that time of the year again. YUP time to start hunting. Now I do not mean with rifels(although some probably approach it like that), I mean JOB HUNTING! Wow I almost forgot how tiring it can be to find a job that will actually get you where you want to go. If anyone has any acounting connections and know of a position then please let me know!
Other than the job hunt it is the usual school... and finishing well.
So to everyone looking for work... keep looking up. something will come if you are diligent and do not give up!

ok so i thought about it

So I thought about the blah posting and I thought, it can not be all that Blah! Then I remembered.... I have a story from today!
I was walking down the hallway at school after my Taxation class. When I heard music coming from somewhere. First I thought, "I have finally done the impossible! I can actually play all the parts and sing at the same time AND without opening my mouth or moving my hands." My second thought was, "where is U Tube when you need it?" Then the music got louder and my third thought was "it must be my I Pod." So I stopped and check my backpack... nope it is not coming from me. Yet the music kept getting louder... and then it happened. The music passed me. YUP all that time and there was a guy walking behind me with his I Pod on really really loud. I could still hear the music after he turned and walked 1/2 down another hall way!
I felt so silly... cause I kept looking all over for this music, I did not know that he was behind me all that time!

Fighting the Blahs

I am trying so hard to fight the Blahs. I am just blah about everything right now
  • school is blah
  • home is blah
  • work is blah

Blah Blah Blah.

Why do the Blahs have to come now! WHY NOW!...

why not after finals... or better yet NEVER!

I kept hearing hehehehe

I was walking to school today, as usual. But unlike the past week there was snow and it was kinda icy. There was a guy walking behind me and I can not count the number of times I started to slide, and each time I could hear him... hehe... He was just waiting for the BIG SPILL~ that rotter! But I could not let him down. The big slip happened, I almost landed in the middle of the road and then he laughed.. I did too, I was just glad that I had my hands free or I would have lost it completely.

I wrote to soon!

So just when I say I can feel that Spring is near... it snows! This tells me that I should never be a weather forecaster (although I do believe that they have machines that tell them what is doing on).
For now I am settling with I am hoping to feel spring again soon!

Dreams of Summer and Summer things

I can almost feel it, the sun that is. I was so excited when I walked outside and I felt the beginnings. That is that it felt like SPRING and we all know what come after Spring! That's right Summer!!!!
WHOO HOOO!
I can feel the warmth tho, and i can see the beautiful scenery, I can hear the river rushing, and water falling, the crickets and other buggy noises that come with summer.

I can almost feel the sharp cold of water when jumping into a lake after hiking, or the cool breeze that comes when the rain is moving in. The buzz of bees, the smell of flowers, waking up to the hum mm of the neighbours lawn mower, OHHH yeah I almost forgot the smell of fresh cut grass, and fresh garden tomatos still warm from the sun. YES! I could go on forever!

Thank you LORD for summer and all the little blessings from you that come with it!

Hitting on old men in red trucks

I have a story... it has been awhile but I have one!
Yesterday I stopped at a red light, I was at the front of the line with a red truck beside me, I looked over and saw two old men. Being tired of squinting I started to rummage around my car looking for my sun glasses. When I turned around to look in the back seat I ended up pushing the horn.
"beep"
I Jumped! I scared myself, then I looked over at the red truck next to me, hoping that I did not give the old men a heart attack, then i realized my mistake, they were staring at me. They were thinking one of two things I am sure : yes! she is hitting on me or what is that crazy youngn' up to? lol . I like to think that I made their day and those two old men spent the rest of the day arguing over which one I was honking at!

VICTORY!!!!

This is my 50th post on my blog... and so it is going to be my VICTORY post. Victory because I actually stuck to it! But also because I have learned allot through my few months of posting. I have learned that ctrl p brings up the print menu even when you don't mean to and if you not careful and hit enter after; it will actually print, even though you did not want to. I have also learned many other things. Here are a few that might interest you...
  1. That you my friends are loyal readers...
  2. That when looking at my life through my blog, there are more funny and joyous times than times of sorrow. But even the times of sorrow bring great blessings from Christ.
  3. I learned that I am better at writing my thoughts than speaking my thoughts.
  4. I learned that I have 80% of Jason Biggs facial structure... lol
  5. That life is not easy but that does not mean that it should not be shared.
  6. That there is allot to me, and that I should start sharing my life with others, cause my experiences could help others and encourage others.

And so looking at all the good times and all the hard times; I can still say with truth and conviction.

All is well.

All shall be well.

an addition to my life motto's

When trouble comes, make it pay rent...
In my words: when life seems to be going wrong, don't just get through it but suck any and all wisdom that you can learn from it, out of it.

and it continues

life just has away of continuing on and on... espically when we need a break from
  1. The issues that make us drag
  2. people who pull us down
  3. Expectations
  4. Disappointments
  5. Hurtful words and actions

When love hate turns into love love

Most girls/women have a love hate relationship with their hair... but I think I am starting to figure out exactly what my hair is capable of. Thanks to Lana and Saralee, I have discovered that with a little product, OK allot of product, I can make my hair go quite curly. Not the nice curl more like wild carefree curls. I will have to post a picture for you all tomorrow. So I now have options with my hair. I can go straight or I can go WILD! I think this might be the beginnings of a love love relationship between me and my hair!

i forgot all about those..

when I was at work the other day I saw a lady in the mall wearing tear-away pants, the ones with the snaps down the sides. I totally forgot about those and now I am getting horrid flashbacks.. I think that there was a reason why I forgot all about those pants!

my nose...

So last night at small group we broke up into groups to pray... and somewhere in that time frame I managed to crash my nose into the side of a couch, it had wood on it and it hurt. My eyes started to water and then it happened... I started to laugh which only made matters worse because it made my nose hurt even more and then the worst possible thing happened. I snorted. Not only am I clumsy, but I also manage to be clumsy in the least likely circumstances?

Why does life have to be so hard sometimes

I have had many "hard" moments my my life. In fact a few years back I had 2 years of one trial after another. I like to say "bring it on" in the in between times, but when I am going through it I just think it sucks. But I have to remember that Christ is shaping me and that I can not let the worldly things change who he is trying to make me and what he wants from me.

I know that I am not the same person that I use to be. Life, or I should say that I have dealt myself some nasty cards and that I am still on the "healing journey" but maybe life is just one long healing journey. What I mean is that God first created us as perfect beings, made solely for the purpose of worshiping him and loving him through everyday activities. Then that nasty thing called SIN entered the world and now we are all born sinners, in need of salvation. Yet even though we are saved; we still need continual healing through out our entire earthly lives. How does that verse go?
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
So even though it bites to go through the hard times. When I do go through them I remember this. I am a work in process and one day everything will be completely right again because of Jesus gift of salvation. That crappy times maybe what I need to go through in order for Christ to do his good work in me, and then I say BRING IT ON! Most, likely in a small voice because I know that it might hurt.
The Good news is that I do not have to go through it alone. I have the strength of Christ, direction of the Holy Spirit and the support of other believers to keep me pressing on towards the goal.
Thanks to all who have supported me.
and Thank you Lord for those people... and for the crappy times...

My Rose Plant

Saralee gave me a Rose plant for my birthday. Some how she knew that I love plants, what she did not know is that I seem to over care for them and they usually die. This is what I thought happened to the little rose plant she gave me.

The plant came in a cute little pot(very little) and I thought Man how am I going to keep this thing alive in such a small pot. So I transplanted it and then all the little sticky parts with leaves on them died. Not wanting to give up I kept watering it; and NOW there are three little new green sticky things starting to grow!

It reminds me of the verses:

  • For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— Romans 6:6
  • You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires-Ephesians 4:22
  • and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.-Ephesians 4:24.

Thie weekend is going to kick butt

I have decided that this weekend is going to rock....
Why is this?
Because this week I have handed in two assignments and written three tests... 1 on Wed, 1 on Thurs and the last one is today...
SO this means that I have three classes with No new material, and no tests to think about over the weekend. Hooray!

The DIRT on being REAL and LIFE...

I find it easier to think while writing. This does not make me a good writer just maybe a good thinker. If that makes any sense at all. I have decided that this is why blogging works for me and why I keep it up even though I do not have much of a fan base.

Here is a question for those of you who read my blog...
Do you find that you are real? Can you say that when you are around people that you show who you really are? Are you honest and up front without worrying if others will agree with you? And if others do not agree with you are you open enough to think it through and admit it when your wrong.

Do you know what I wish...
I wish that I could be real, that I could tell people exactly what is going on in my life and have them care about it. I wish people could be real with me, so that I could care about them and encourage them. I wish people could see my heart, the core of my being, without all the pain that comes with being vulnerable and exposed.

An insight into Bev: for those of you who care to know:
Sometimes I have a hard time making small talk, because there is more depth to me than the usual "I am doing good" and well I don't really care for the superficial nattering. This makes me sound serious and dull. But I am not dull, in fact I love to have fun. I find that I am not capable of joking unless I know that the person(s) around me know me really well and I know that they are not going to hurt me for the purpose of harming me. I wish I was not like this. If I wasn't then I would give better first impressions!
ALAS! I think I have a dilemma here... Is this a bad thing? Let me know your thoughts.

HA HA HA I just thought of something. If anyone reads my blog they are pretty much getting the real deal... lol... But I pretty much know who reads my blog: Saraleee, Shayna, Becky, my sister in law once in a while, and of course Susan.
Well that is all for now...
GOOD NIGHT TO ALL MY "FANS"
